Alona (Lana) Rae Eidsmoe

Alona (Lana) Rae Eidsmoe, 78, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, after a long battle with dementia.

Lana was born on July 31, 1946, in Viroqua, Wisconsin, to Kenneth and Marian Newman. She was the second oldest of eleven children. Lana graduated from Central High School in La Crosse. She dedicated her younger years to working various jobs serving others and later worked at the UWL Cartwright Center until her retirement.

On February 26, 1966, Lana married Allen D. Eidsmoe of Blanchardville, Wisconsin. Lana was a dedicated wife, daughter, and sister. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family. She loved traveling, camping, fishing, boating, picnics, cooking, and baking. She also loved animals and enjoyed creating through her arts, crafts, and interior decorating.

Lana is survived by her loving husband, Allen (Al) Eidsmoe. She is also survived by her siblings: Rob (Judy) Newman of Milton, FL; Mary (Roger) Rhode of Black River Falls, WI; Gary (Karla) Newman of Stoddard, WI; Wayne (Sue) Newman of Kingston, WA; Peggy (Tim) Mormann of Dresbach, MN; Lorrie (Woody Marthanze) Newman of Milton, FL; Julie Droog of Holmen, WI; Jodi (Shawn) Scarlett of La Crosse, WI; and Shelly McMahon of La Crosse, WI. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all who were loved dearly.

Lana was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Marian Newman; her sister, Jerilyn Newman; her brother-in-law, Mark Droog; her grandparents; and her in-laws, Oscar and Bertina Eidsmoe.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 07, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will follow the service at 12:00 p.m., burial will be held at 1:45 p.m. at the Onalaska City Cemetery.

 

Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family at this time.

    Aunt Lana was one of a kind. She loved her husband and her family deeply.

    I have many good memories of sleepovers at her house when I was a child and long talks as an adult.

    She loved to make everything beautiful, and she told great stories.

    Lana will be missed until we see her again ♥️♥️
