Bernard Joseph Mickschl
Bernard Joseph Mickschl, 73, of La Crosse/Sparta died Oct. 23, 2016 in Sacramento, CA while visiting his sons and grandchildren.
He was born November 26, 1942 in La Crosse, WI to Jacob Mickschl and Bernice(Mickschl) Brandt. His unsurpassed love for the outdoors soon followed. Hewas an accomplished archer, marksman and storyteller. Bern also served hiscountry proudly until being Honorably Discharged in 1986. His tours of dutynever really ended as he lived for rolling the hills of Wisconsin with hishunting partners, chasing turkeys and deer. He is survived by his wifeJeanette (Sherry) Mickschl, brother, Gordon (Diane) Mickschl, step-sisterJoan Brandt, daughters Kimberly Hansen, Rachel (Steve) Weyhrich, sons Christopher and Mark (Hansina), 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St. Onalaska, WI. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Ted Dewald will officiate.
Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

I was sorry to read of Bernie’s passing. You both are in my thoughts and prayers. I have many fond memories of Bernie’s stories and great recipes while you were living on Flora court in Holmen.
