Obituary

Carol Ann Anderson

February 21, 2025 | 0 comments

Carol Ann Anderson, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully at her home on October 25, 2024.
Born in Sparta, Wisconsin on November 30, 1954 she was the oldest of three children of Stanley and Ursula Rambis. She was a 1972 graduate of Sparta High School and went on to receive her bachelors of science degree from UW-LaCrosse in 1976. During her college days she met the love of her life, soul mate and best friend Keith Anderson. They were married in 1981 and celebrated more than 40 years together until sadly Keith passed away in 2022. Their son Dustin was born in 1987 and she adored him with all her heart.
Carol was employed at Shopko before joining the tax accounting team of Gillette & Associates where she worked for many years as a bookkeeper/payroll assistant before retiring in 2016. Carol was an avid Green Bay Packer fan which was at odds with her Minnesota Vikings husband.  They could never watch the head to head games in the same room because their football team passion was so intense.  In addition Carol supported all the Wisconsin teams including the Brewers, Bucks and Badgers.  She took her sports seriously and hardly ever missed watching a game. Carol also enjoyed the camaraderie of many friends while participating in league softball, bowling, darts and volleyball.  It’s been said she played a mean game of cribbage and was also known for being a very competitive euchre player. Camping at Goose Island was something she looked forward to every summer together with friends gathered around a campfire at night to tell stories and reminisce about the good old days. Carol wasn’t much of a cook but thankfully Keith had some culinary skills to make up for what she lacked. Oktoberfest was another welcomed event that became a yearly tradition when you staked out your spot for the Maple Leaf Parade the night before and hung out at the fest grounds enjoying a cold brew. This all started as a child when the family first attended the parade in celebration of her mother’s German heritage. Carol was a bargain hunter and was known to spend time scouring local garage sales on weekends for good deals and new treasures. Yep there are boxes of Beanie Babies in storage somewhere. Carol was an avid reader and enjoyed mysteries and crime stories. Although she wasn’t much of a traveler, her books, movies and TV shows took her to places she dreamed of visiting. She adored her many pets throughout the years especially Bandit, Lily, Shady and Glory B. Carol always looked forward to spending time with her grandson and like any proud Oma does, she loved to share all his milestones and accomplishments.
Carol will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  She is survived by her son Dustin Anderson, stepdaughter Robyn Hallonquist, grandson Jax Anderson, brother Thomas Rambis, and sister Teri Radam along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
