Charles J. Novacek
Charles J. Novacek, 92, of La Crosse passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Benedictine Manor. He was born on September 18, 1925, in La Crosse to Charles and Ida (Schams) Novacek. Charles worked for the La Crosse Concrete Company for 35 years.
Charles is survived by one sister, Florence Gordon, a very special niece, Phyllis (Vernon) Halverson, and special nephew, David (Ellen) Gordon; along with many nieces and nephews. Charles always enjoyed passing out a buck or two to his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and more recently great-great nieces.
His parents, three brothers, Joseph, Donald, and Raymond Novacek; and seven sisters, Lorraine Sankey, Frieda Novacek, Phyllis Novacek, Catherine Klos, Janice Gordon, Mildred Sackmaster, and Marion Sackmaster preceded him in death.
Father Robert Cook will be officiating internment at the Novacek family plot at the Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse, Wisconsin on Friday, July 27, 2018, at 11:00 AM.
Our deepest sympathy to the family of Charlie. We have known him for years! He dated my Aunt Wanda Jensen some years ago. They had many good dinner dates and dancing evenings. Charlie was always so kind and friendly to all of our family. He was a good man and now we know he is at peace with the Lord! RIP, old friend!
Although we haven’t spent a lot of time growing up with you due to our being in a wonderful foster home a hundred miles away. But I always enjoyed the times you came and picked us up to spend time with Grandma Novacek..Fair, and just spending time. Thank You. And Rest in Peace God Bless.!
