Charles Wesley Applebee, 72, of Readstown passed away peacefully on May 28, 2014 in Hospice House, Viroqua, WI. He was born on January 27, 1942 to Royden and Irene Applebee. He married Bonnie Peterson on April 5, 1961 in Waukon, IA; they were married for 53 years. Charles worked at General Motors for 30 years.
He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Other interests included deer hunting, mushroom picking with his family, fishing, getting together with the Soldiers Grove gas passers, and playing cards, bingo, and pool.
Charles is survived by his wife Bonnie; son Marc Applebee; daughters Sara and Nick, Laura and Ron, and Carol and Todd Marshall; ten grandkids and seven great grandkids. He is also survived by brothers Dalee and Phyliss, Stanley, and Alan; sisters Harlean and Myral Miller, Charlotte Applebee, Diana and Todd Christianson, and Mary Keller; and special cousin Cecil Longmire and his wife Della. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
The family would like to thank the Bland Bekkedal Hospice Care Center in Viroqua for all their help and kindness to the family, and Coulee Region Cremation Group in Onalaska. A celebration of Charles’ life will be held at Pat’s Party Barn in Readstown, WI, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 7th.
