Charmaine M. Carter

March 13, 2025 | 5 comments

Charmaine M. Carter, age 82, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, at Bluffview Memory Care in Holmen, WI. She was born to Charles & Mary (Granucci) Casale on September 9, 1942, in Chicago, IL. She remained in the Chicago area with her parents and brother, Richard, for all of her early life. In 1970 she met her one and only love, Charles Carter, at a carnival where her cousin Mary Ann had their rides set up. They married December 12, 1970, and moved to Arkansas where they had their son, Ward, in 1972. Charmaine was short in stature, but what she lacked in height, she made up for in heart! She loved BIG!!!

Charmaine worked hard all her life. She had jobs that ranged from a State Farm Insurance Adjuster to Quality Control Inspector at Milwaukee Valve, which she did until she retired in 2006. She then spent her time volunteering at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital until 2016 when her health started to decline.

Charmaine is survived by her son, Ward (Becky) Carter, her grandchildren, Kane, Kirstin, Angel, Hunter, Paige, and Shaw, and her great-grandchildren, Kayden, Brooklyn, Paisley, and Easton.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents Charles & Mary Casale, her brother Richard Casale, and her in-laws Virgil & Ruth Linton.

At her request, there will be no funeral. She requested a celebration of life, to be held at a place that held a special place in her heart, Q’s restaurant in Chicago, where her & Charles had their first date. Date has not been set but will be announced in the near future.
