Clarence E. “Tub” Rochester

Clarence E. Rochester (also known as Tub), 91 of Onalaska, WI was born on March 28, 1934, in La Crosse, WI to William and Marie Rochester. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Eagle Crest North in Onalaska after a long battle with cancer.

Clarence retired after a long career with Allied Signal starting in La Crosse, WI and ending in Postville, IA. He was an avid fisherman especially musky, loved small mouth bass fishing on the Turkey river in Clermont, IA, and fishing around the area with his family. In his younger years he would hunt just about anything including squirrels, duck, bear, and turtle trapping. He loved bowling and even enjoyed a trip to Las Vegas for a bowling tournament. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Christmas and summer picnics were always a joy! Clarence was proud to have served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Judy) Rochester of La Crescent, MN, Dan (Rae Ann) Rochester of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jeff (Eva) Rochester of Bloomington, IN, David (Wendy) Rochester of Mansfield, OH, Holly Cornforth of Onalaska, WI; brother, Richard (Mary Lou) Rochester, Onalaska, WI, Sister-in-laws Norene Rochester, Holmen, WI and Shirley Schneider, La Crosse, WI; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Rochester, his parents, siblings, Grace, Robert, Lester, Dorothy, John, Stella, Leo, and Cecil, Favorite son-in-law; Doug Cornforth, Brother-in-law; John Schneider, grandchildren; Travis, Melinda, Caleb and Melissa.

The family would like to thank Eagle Crest North staff for all their wonderful care and Emplify Health by Gundersen Oncology department and Hospice team.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jason Stanton officiating at, The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Military Honors will be provided by Onalaska American Legion Post 336. A private family burial will take place after the services.

The family would like to also remember the passing of Melissa Rochester, Clarence’s granddaughter, who passed away on April 25, 2025. A special memorial will be included during the service. Her obituary can be found here at www.couleecremation.com

    Clarence -such a wonderful man with a huge smile and grin. He will be missed. So grateful to have known and spent time with him. My heart goes out to his family during this time
