Clinton Dean Sinclair
Clinton Dean Sinclair, 75, died peacefully surrounded by his family on August 5, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, WI following a 2-month long battle with brain cancer.
He was born in Mabel, MN to Lewis and Olga Sinclair (Lommen) on March 24, 1936. He married Dolores Riha on November 15, 1958 in Harmony, MN. He was a confirmed member of Mabel First Lutheran Church and a 1954 graduate of Mabel High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Ft. Hood, TX and Ulm, Germany. He worked at Trane Company for 42 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, 2 brother-in-laws and 2 sister-in-laws.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Dolores (Riha), 2 brothers Everett (Judy) Sinclair, Spring Grove, MN, Orel Sinclair (Canton, MN), 1 sister Kathie Vongroven (La Crosse, WI), his 4 children Rich (Mary Lynn) Sinclair, Mindoro, WI, Tammie (Bill) Gade, Flower Mound, TX, Laurie (Dave) Engen, Caledonia, MN, and Dale (Ann) Sinclair, Onalaska, WI, grandchildren Tyler Engen (Bethany Tisthammer), Kyle Engen, Ashley Sinclair, Chase Gade, Johanna Wanie, Jesse Wanie, great grandchildren Anthony Hernandez, Brayden Wanie and many nieces and nephews.
Clinton was a great husband and father. He loved gardening and made everything he touched more beautiful. The last few years he enjoyed spending winters at their home in Ft. Myers, FL. Clint was always ambitious and enjoyed working into retirement at their side-businesses Greenfield Boarding Kennels and Royal Green Sod Farm.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10 at 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Mabel First Lutheran Church, 202 N. Oak Street, Mabel, MN. The family will hold a private graveside burial service later in the day. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
