Dale F. Doely died on February 4, 2026. Dale was 97 years old. He was born in Spring Grove, Minnesota, and lived there until he enlisted in the army. He married Elaine (Thorson) while stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. After they came back to Wisconsin, Dale attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and then was employed by Trane Company in LaCrosse as a design engineer for 30 years.

Dale enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and golfing. He could fix anything, and he took pride in taking care of his house and yard. He also took pride in advising and helping his only child, Rhonda, with her life, home projects, and her Scottish Terriers. Dale was a quiet, kind, intelligent, and capable man who was loved and admired by all who knew him.

Dale is survived by his wife of 74 years, Elaine, and their daughter, Rhonda Doely. Dale also is survived by Elaine’s brother, Mark (Holly) Thorson, and Elaine’s nieces and nephews and their children. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ella Doely, his brothers, Leonard (Opal) and Robert (Doris) Doely, and Elaine’s sister, Norma (Rodney) Bentley.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
