Daniel Walter Stangel
Daniel Walter Stangel, 80, peacefully left this world on Wednesday October 23, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Nancy Ann (Dorski) Stangel. Daniel was born on July 29, 1944. He grew up in Bloomer where he graduated from high school in 1962. He joined the Army in 1962 and served until 1965. He married Nancy November 13, 1965. They had two sons Scott and Jeremy who they raised in Greenwood and Elk Mound.
Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing softball when he was younger. He was a passionate sports fan his whole life. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers as well as all the Wisconsin Badger College sports both men and women.
Daniel is survived by his son Scott (Debra) Stangel, his great granddaughter Addison Brugman, grandchildren Kaileigh (Scott) Brugman, and Jevin Stangel, as well as Kristalee, Val, Cody, Sami, Brody & Baker. His Sisters Patricia Stangel, Cindy (Daniel) Madison, and brother Kenneth (Patricia) Stangel and his nephews and niece. Daniel was proceeded in death by his son, Jeremy, Parents Walter and Marion Stangel, Brother Mike Stangel, Sister Ione Knight, Niece Angela Knight, Katie Limberg and wife Nancy Ann Stangel.
A small gathering for friends and family of Daniel’s will be held Friday, November 1, 2024, from 10:00 to 12:30 in Onalaska at, The Gathering Place.
