Obituary
David Arnold Gehrke
David Arnold Gehrke age 67 of La Crosse, WI, passed away on January 20, 2022 at Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse. He was born on September 2nd, 1954 to Arnold and Lillian (Krenske) Gehrke.
Dave has spent the past 15 years over the road trucking. He loved spending time with his family, sitting around the campfire and riding his 4-wheeler. He loved watching old westerns, talking his way through his day, building/fixing things and having fun.
Some of our favorite memories as kids were, going to the dump (Yes, we said he was fun! Toooo daaa dump, to da dump, to da dump, dump, dump!), cutting and hauling wood, and the early morning treats before heading to the farm (or the dump). Dad gave the best hugs. This past Christmas, Dad and Emily’s family went and cut down their Christmas tree together. Dad spent Christmas with Tina’s family, playing with his grandkids and great grandsons. We weren’t done with you yet, Dad, but great memories will be cherished forever.
Dave is survived by his daughters, Tina (Lamar) Anderson and Emily (Tony) Chock; grandchildren, Thomas (Desiree) Gehrke, Malorie and Dalton Chock, and Kynlee Anderson; great grandsons Eli, Hayden, Bradley, and Blake; sisters Betty Riemann and Marietta (Roger) Buchholz, brother Donald Gehrke, nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Lillian; several family members; three great grandchildren, Madeline, Natalie, and Mason.
A huge thank you to our friends, family, and dad’s close friends that have shown us so much love and support as we navigate life without our dad physically with us. We will forever be grateful
A celebration of life will be a private event.
I share in the family’s loss of a great man, who was always willing to help others. A
true friend who definitely made my life better.
Dave and I were best friends in high school and played in a band together with 3 of his classmates. We had horses too and did some trail riding together. Rest In Peace old friend. You will be missed.
