Obituary
David Henry Bork
David Henry Bork, 81, passed away on the morning of Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the Mayo of lacrosse hospital in his sleep.
David was born on October 8, 1944, in Arcadia, Wisconsin to Henry and Clara. (Mertes) Bork.
David married Irene Ann Kamrowski on October 7, 1972. They had two sons Paul and Patrick Bork. David ( Butch ) was a farmer all his life. Donnie Bork, Bruce Krozka, Steve Bork, Mike Bork, Dick Bork, and Norbert Bork were true allies when it came to helping on the farm.
In his younger days, he absolutely loved going raccoon hunting with his good friends Ed Buchholz and David ( Doc ) Neitzel. His pride and joy in the hunting world was his hunting dog Boomer which was a mixed Mutt that would out hunt many top bred hounds. Butch would always laugh out loud when telling stories of playing softball with his friends. He would reference Norm Semling, Eugene ( Yogi ) , Donnie for sure enjoying the beers before and after the games. Butch would go as far to tell his grandson Joseph to ask “Norm about the beers “when he would be at school teaching. Butch’s brothers, Donnie, and Yogi had a running joke between the three. If the Vikings would win over the Packers, after every game, the winner would automatically call the losers to ask if they caught the game rubbing it in for losing. Butch was a true Viking fan through and through, of course a fan of anyone that would “beat the hell out of the Packers.”!! Butch loved snowmobiling with the boys/friends many times” Raising hell on those old sleds”. Butch and Donnie had a next level relationship.
They got even closer after Donnie was shipped out to Vietnam. When Donnie was overseas, Butch borrowed his ‘57 Chevy Bel-Air and in fact ended up, destroying it nearly dying with Norbert Bork. Donnie was asked about the ‘57 ,and he was upset over it saying “ I loved that car ,but I love my brother more than any car”!! Of course, Butch replaced it with a convertible that Donnie truly enjoyed. Butch loved playing buck euchre with Doc ,Dee Neitzel , Jack, Dottie Slaby , Rudy Kamrowski, his wife, Irene, and so many other relatives or friends. Butch always thought of Lucy Kamrowski and Rose Bremer as “his sisters “. Butch also held Mark Kamrowski, and Fred Frie in the highest regards calling them “his other children “.
Butch always enjoyed the simpler things in life from spending time (more like hours ) talking with his Lifelong friend Heuer, going turkey hunting with Brian Bork. As the years went by Butch became a grandfather and great grandfather, which made him extremely happy. He would always be asking “ when Are the kids coming over again?” Butch would spend hours playing cards with the grandchildren, and of course he wouldn’t go easy on them turning them into highly competitive players themselves. David always wanted others to be happy so he would ask not to shed tears of sadness but rather remember all the great times.
David is survived by his wife, Irene of 53 years their son Paul Bork, a fountain city, Wisconsin and their son Patrick (Ace) Bork of Winona, Minnesota, grandsons Troy, Austin, and Joseph Bork of Winona, Minnesota, sister, Rita, Fort of Fountain, city Wisconsin, Addisyn and Noelle Leslie of Winona, Minnesota.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Clara (Mertes) Bork, Eugene (Yogi) Bork, Jane Dzwonski, Donnie Bork, Bobbi, Jo Bork, and many other relatives taken too soon. There will be a celebration of life on February 7, 2026, from 11- 3:00pm, with an old-fashioned Polish lunch to follow at the Bluff siding Wisconsin Townhall. No flowers, please, according to family wishes.

Wishing you peace and comfort during this difficult time.
