David Patrick Holte, 59, of La Crosse, WI passed away on Thursday, August 17th, 2023, at home after a brief battle with brain cancer
He was born on April 27th, 1964, to Verdel and Patricia (Kubal) Hole and was raised in Coon Valley, WI. For many years David was employed by FlemingFoods and then by Gundersen Health System.
David is survived by his partner of 36 years, Kim Echard, his mother Patricia Holte, his siblings Michael (Jil Gorell) Holte, Steve Holte, Debra (Jim) Timm and Diane (Chuck) Fremstad, nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Verdel, sister Sara, at birth, and sister-in- law Bonnie Holte.
During his free time David loved to watch sports, especially major league baseball. He was also
an avid dog lover and he and Kim enjoyed taking their beloved German Shepherd Bella on long car rides and for runs in the park. Bella rarely left David’s side over the past few months and was a source of great comfort to him.
A special thank you to Gundersen Health System Hospice for their exceptional care over the
past several weeks and to Michelle Goldsmith for her friendship and assistance to both Kim and David whenever it was needed during this difficult time.
Per David’s wishes, he will be cremated (Coulee Region Cremation Group) and no visitation or service will be held.
Memorials can be made to Gundersen Health System Hospice, Coulee Region Humane Society or to the family for future charitable contributions.
