Desmond L Olson
Desmond L. Olson, 56, of Sparta, WI passed away peacefully at his home on September 24, 2016 with his companion, Maxine B. Smith by his side. He was born on November 25, 1959 to Carl J. and Phyllis (Baker) Olson. He grew up in Sparta.
Desi loved to go fishing every chance he had and also loved camping, the Packers, Nascar and deer hunting. He worked at MultiStack in Sparta for the past few years, and prior to that worked at PPC, Pooh Bear Painting and Sparta Manufacturing.
Desi was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents, Carl L. and Ruth Olson, maternal grandparents, Alfred and Mildred Baker and a nephew, Darin Olson. Surviving are his companion Max of 10 years, sister Jill (Tom) Vian, brothers Ron (Monica), Greg, Bruce (Vicki), and Bryan (Cathy).
The family would like to thank the staff at Gundersen Oncology, Gundersen Hospice and S.A.C.S. Memorials may be directed to S.A.C.S., PO Box 130, Sparta, WI 54656.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life at the Lakeview Supper Club (former VFW Club) in Sparta on October 12, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date. Coulee Cremation is assisting the family.
Prayers are with you and family. Hold on to the good memories they will help you get thru this time of grief. Desi is in God’s arms and pain free now.
To the family of Desi Olson. …..may you all find PEACE knowing he is free from the pain he endured !! You are a strong family and will help each other through all you have ahead of you.
Just remember him as a good brother !!
I am so very saddened to read of Desi’s passing at such a young age. My heart goes out to his partner, his family, and his closest friends. Desi was always so very kind to me in school and I will never forget his smile and his happy spirit and loving generosity and friendship. God bless you all!

We did not know you as well as so many others, that being said, Bradly admits you were Fierce in your Packer loyalty and Enjoyed the camaraderie of conversations with you during those times! Look over your Max, Family, Friends & the PACK! Until we all Rendezvous again!
