“Don” was born on May 15th, 1956 to Norman and Edna Mae (Carter) Flaig. He grew up in Sparta, WI and graduated from Sparta High School in 1974.Don Went to Western Technical College in La Crosse, WI and graduated as an auto mechanic in 1976. He had a great love for spending time with his friends, ice fishing, camping, drag racing, and smoking meat. 

Don fought a hard, courageous battle with cancer. He passed away on October 30th, 2019 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Hospital in La Crosse, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents: Norman and Edna and his sisters: Darlene, Sharon, and Jacqueline.

He is survived by his (adopted daughter) Jacci Horstman, (adopted son) Ryan Zillmer, niece Mariah Flaig-Nome of Sparta, WI, along with many friends.

Dons family and friends wish to extend a heart felt thank you to the Gundersen Hospice team for all the wonderful care provided to him. 

A visitation will be held on November 9th, 2019 from 11am-1pm at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street Onalaska, WI. A celebration of life is to follow after the visitation at Top Dawgs Bar & Grill. N8292 County Road C Mindoro, WI. A burial will be held at a later date.
