Donna Marie Rumsey, aged 74, passed away at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center on April 21, 2024.

Born to Don and Louise Pett on February 17, 1950, Donna’s life was a rich tapestry of joy, resilience, and spirited independence.

In 1986, Donna married Larry Rumsey, and together they nurtured a relationship grounded in mutual respect and shared dreams until Larry’s passing in February 2017. Their bond remains a testament to enduring love and partnership.

Donna’s zest for life was evident in her diverse interests. She delighted in nature’s beauty, particularly watching eagles soar across clear skies. Her hobbies were marked by a blend of enthusiasm and humor—from her playful attempts at gardening to her passion for puzzles, camping, and exploring the great outdoors. Even when her gardening didn’t turn out as planned, Donna laughed and eagerly awaited the next planting season.

For over 30 years, Donna brought warmth and laughter to her role as a Certified Nursing Assistant, touching the lives of many with her compassion and humor. She embraced innovation in everyday life, constantly searching for the latest kitchen gadgets and the most efficient cleaning tools, often sharing these finds with her children as practical gifts—or humorous ones.

A devoted mother of five children, Nichole (Rich) Overby, Teri Olson (Will Herber), Patrick (Krissy) Rumsey, Jacqueline Rumsey, and Daniel (Crescent) Rumsey and grandmother of 12 grandchildren, Donna cherished her family deeply. Her home was a haven of warmth, laughter, and occasional quirky gag gifts, reflecting her spirited approach to life. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, providing strength and guidance as she conversed with God and sought answers beyond her grasp.
