Dorothy Jeane Schaper passed away April 29, 2018 surrounded by family at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse at the age of 96.  She was born March 30, 1922 in Elk Point, South Dakota to Frederick and Lelia Barnes.  She married Alfred F. Schaper February 25^th, 1941 in La Crosse, Wisconsin.  He preceded her in death in 1997.

She is survived by four sons:  Dennis (Cyndy) and daughter Brooke, Duane (Ana) and daughter Heather, Dean (Rae) and daughters Angela and Jessica, David (Sandy) and daughters Stacy and Erin.  She is also survived by her sister Nellie Mc Bain, nephews and nieces, and thirteen great grandchildren.   In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer, two sisters, Patricia Ann and Darlene, four brothers, Charles, Fredrick, Eugene, and Wendell.

Dorothy loved her family and friends and farming with her husband Al on their farm near West Salem.  She had a good life and was treasured by all who knew her.  She will be missed.

According to Dorothy’s wishes there will be no visitations or services.
