Duncan Orion Evenson

October 30, 2015 | 1 comment

Duncan Orion Evenson, 24, of Arcadia, unexpectedly left our world for the halls of our ancestors on October 29, 2015. He was born July 18, 1991 to Jay B. Evenson and Cindee L. (Amundson) Evenson.

An accomplished welder and maintenance mechanic, he most often self identified as a farmer, a trade he plied with passion at work and at home. He was a skilled outdoorsman, a voracious reader, and occasional musician, writer and humorist. He was a kind and wonderful young man who had many friends and will be greatly missed by our family and all who knew him. We loved him with all our hearts.

He is survived by his parents; siblings, Jennifer L. Sanderson, Alvin W. Sanderson, Koryn A. Evenson; uncles and aunts, Paul (Evergreen) Amundson, Craig (Stacy) Evenson and their daughter Samantha Millard; Rebecca (Arlan) Lee; grandparents, John and Mary Larson; and many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Christ Lutheran Church, 821 Lincoln St., Arcadia. Pastor Dana Jackson will officiate with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church Sunday. Immediately following the service, there will be a reception at the Tamarack Bar with a celebration of life service at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

Condolences

Healing thoughts are being sent to your family. There is nothing to take away the pain that is in your hearts. Only time will lesson it.
I was Duncan’s second grade teacher. I remember him as thoughtful and polite. I enjoyed his creative thinking and unique personality.
I remember that he would have rather been outside doing something than in the classroom on many days. That was his classroom and is where he learned best.
