Elaine Ester Gillmeister

Elaine Ester Gillmeister, 65, Galesville, Wisconsin, passed away suddenly in her home on Monday, January 13, 2025.  Elaine was born on April 27, 1959, to William and Georgia (Buchannan) Bartelt, in Sparta, Wisconsin.

She graduated from Viroqua High School in 1977. After high school she went to do many different careers. She worked at Metallics for 25 years and TRW for 12 years where she made many friends along the way.

In May of 1983, she met her soulmate and best friend, Bradley Gillmeister. The couple married on December 3rd of that year and had a full and happy 41 years of marriage. Elaine and Bradley went on to have two beautiful daughters, Bonnie Jo (Scott Witzke) Galesville, WI, and Anita (Aaron) Healy of North Stonington, CT. Elaine was also a loving Nana to her grandchildren, Landon and Leyna.

Elaine enjoyed her life in retirement by spending time with her husband and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings and is survived by her husband, two daughters, two grandchildren, and four sisters.

Visitation will be held at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street Onalaska, on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 2-4pm.  Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
