She worked at several medical facilities as Director of Nurses in Tigerton, and Clintonville, Wisconsin and was the first woman to ever serve on the Tigerton town board.  She was very active in church choirs and community activities including girl scouts, and sports in the form of golf and bowling. She loved music, reading, crossword puzzles, bridge, watching baseball and football games, cooking, knitting, and visiting with others.

Her husband, Lawrence, 7 brothers, 3 sisters, and daughters Gretchen and Carolyn preceded her in death.  Her sister, Nancy Hudson, 3 daughters: Kristine (Bill) Nutter, Jeanne (Bruce) Foster, & Claire (Stan) Stanek, and 44 grand and great-grandchildren are her survivors.

A funeral service will be held for Frances Heise at Faith Lutheran in La Crosse, WI at 11 am on Sat., Oct. 16, 2021.  Visitation will be from 10 – 11 am at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of Frances Heise to the Audubon Society or children’s medical research.  Her funeral will be livestreamed via faithonmain.com/heise.
