Gerald “Jerry” Emil Kjos 81 of La Crosse passed away peacefully on December 04, 2023 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

He was born August 24, 1942 in La Crosse to Paul and Florence Kjos. Jerry married Nancy Jean Brzowsky on March 18, 2000.

Jerry was a graduate of Central High School class of 1960. After high school he joined the United States Navy serving on the USS Pocono. Upon returning to La Crosse he took a position with Continental Can Company where he worked for 36 years.

Jerry and Nancy enjoyed going to softball games in the evenings after his 18 holes on the golf course, and maybe a few beers in the clubhouse. Jerry was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan and He and Nancy traveled to Daytona and Arizona for races.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Florence, brother Spencer, Sister Patty, numerous aunts and uncles, and extended family and good friends.

He is survived by his wife and best friend Nancy, children Kristi (Tony) (Ted), Kristi’s daughter Maekenzy and her son Braylon, Karen (Michael) children Colton, Tatum, Wyatt, and Mitchell, Keith (Angela) children Owen, Emma. Also Surviving Jerry are brothers Roger (Barb) Kjos and David (Sandy) Kjos.

A Celebration of life will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street Onalaska, WI 54650. Jerry would want a casual service so pleased wear your jeans and Packer, Brewer, or Badger apparel, or wear his favorite color blue! Please bring stories to share along with smiles and laughter.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gundersen Health fifth floor nursing staff for making Jerry as comfortable as can be during his final days.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the family.
