Gretchen “Maryann” Klein age 87 of Holmen passed away peacefully on December 24th 2022 at the Onalaska Care Center in Onalaska.

Maryann was born on May 2, 1935 to Kathleen Lindsay in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Maryann loved reading whodunits, particularly Agatha Christie novels. She also enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles and watching the Food Network. She made the best Chicken and Dumplings and Roast Beef with Yorkshire pudding! Maryann also loved dogs, especially Scottish Terriers as they reminded her of her Clan Lindsay Scottish heritage. Most of all Maryann loved spending time with her family, visiting at home, going out to eat or spoiling her grandkids. We swear the phrase “What happens at Grandma’s stays at Grandma’s” was coined at her home!

Maryann is survived by children, Adina (Glenn) Ackerman of Fairfax, VA, Laura Klein of Eldorado Springs, CO,  Karen (Chad) McCathie of Holmen, WI; and grandchildren, Benjamin Ackerman, Joshua Ackerman, Alyssa McCathie and Dylan McCathie; brother-in-law, Robert (Charlotte) Klein; and nephews, Nicholas Klein, Robert “Rob” Klein,

Maryann was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Lindsay Klassen; and step-father, Johann “John” Klassen of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; sister-in-law; Charlotte (Robert) Klein, and nephew, Theodore Klein

Memorial service to be held on January 9, 2023 at 11:00 with visitation at 10:00 and a light lunch to follow at Coulee Region Cremation Group Gathering Place,133 Mason Street, Onalaska, WI 54650
