Harold K (Goose) Olson died peacefully on March 31, 2026, at the age of 98. He resided at Dove Healthcare Assisted Living in Osseo for the better part of 2025 and up until the time of his passing.

He was born to Martin Boe and Tillie Josephine Olson on March 16, 1928, in Northfield, WI.

Harold was raised on the family farm in rural Northfield, where he lived his entire life.  He farmed on the family homestead, logged, and was road patrolman for the township for many years.  He enjoyed hunting, playing pool, morning coffee and shake-a-day with his buddies at the Northfield bar. He loved spending time with his neighbor, Julie Hansen and family. At Dove Healthcare, he also acquired an interest in playing cornhole.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Mavis, second wife, Fern, longtime companion, Mildred Fremstad, sisters Irene Jacobson and Helen Stevens, brothers Leonard Olson, Victor Olson, and Donald Olson, and son-in-law, Dave (Apple) Appleyard.

Harold is survived by his children, Kenneth (Killer) Olson, Rodney (Nancy) Olson, Brenda Appleyard, and Harold Olson Jr.  He is also survived by grandchildren, Hilary (Jordan) Houser, Miranda Olson, Kiley Semke, Justin Linberg, Angel (Patrick) Wenk, April (Nate) Johnston, Tyler Olson and Shane (Emily) Olson. Harold’s legacy also includes great grandchildren, Graysen Wenk, Abrielle Semke, Kasen Semke, Emmie Semke, Eveylou Johnston, Josiah Johnston, Eden Johnston, Riley and Pressley Olson and Maverick Houser.

Harold was a lifetime member of the Northfield Lutheran Church.  It was Harold’s request that his body be cremated and buried in the Northfield Lutheran Cemetery.  The family will have a private burial and celebration of life at a later date.
