Helen Spalding (Leni) Koloski, 84, a former Columbus resident, died Dec. 8^th in La Crosse, WI.

Born in Marshfield, WI, to the late Thomas and Helen Spalding, she was a magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Lawrence College. She served the Catholic Diocese of Columbus for many years as a social worker and as public relations spokesperson for Catholic Charities. She helped build the Department of Communications for the diocese and served as its first Director under the late Bishop Edward J. Herrmann.

Married to the late Marion J. Koloski in 1952, she is survived by five children, Paul (Kathy) of Greensburg, PA, Mary of Brandon, FL, Peter (Kim) of Upper Arlington, Margaret of Cape Coral, FL and Martha of La Crosse; six grandchildren; and brother, John Spalding of Menasha, WI.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday January 27^th, 10:15 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, 414 East North Broadway Columbus, Ohio 43214. Coulee Region Cremation Group at www.coulecremation.com is assisting the family.
