Henry “Hank” Thicke
Henry “Hank” A. Thicke, 80, of Bangor, WI, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2016 in his home. He was born October 6, 1935 to Henry and Hedwig (Fuchs) Thicke. He married Ann Shelmidine November 24, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bangor.
Henry owned and operated Thicke’s Heavy Equipment Sales and Service, mined for gold in Alaska with his family for 10 summers, and was the co-founder of Children’s Vision helping homeless and needy children in South America. Mechanics was his passion and he always went out of his way to help others.
Henry is survived by his wife, Ann; children, Joan (Mike) Meyer, Larry (Kim) Thicke, Kurt Thicke, Tim (Jamie) Thicke, Jeanene (Richard) Sanderson; grandchildren, Chris (Denise) Meyer, Danica Meyer, Nick (Sierra) Meyer, Mary Lynn Thicke, Patrick Thicke, Garrett Thicke, Kim Thicke, Kiefer Thicke, Hunter Miller, Henry Thicke-Sanderson, Andrea (Russ) Hall; great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Tyler, Derek, Taylan, Everly; sister, Lois Best; hundreds more children who called him Grandpa in Colombia, South America; and many nieces and nephews.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ramon (Kathy) Thicke; sister, Elizabeth (Vincent) Schiltz; and brother-in-law, Bill Best
The family would like to thank the friends and family who stood by their side.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:30 am at the Rivers Harvest Church, 1001 Quincy St., Onalaska. Pastor Andy LeFebre will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the service at the church on Saturday. Coulee Region Cremation Group and Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Children’s Vision fund.
