James “Hoppy” Arthur Miller, 76, of Stoddard, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in his home.

He was born on January 15, 1934 to Edmund and Josephine (Jordan) Miller. James married Fay Karis on September 18, 1954 at St. Augustine Church in Norwalk.

 

James enjoyed bowling and was a frequent member of the 700 club, he was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose- Lodge 1920, and he worked at Coca Cola bottling company and at Gateway Transportation.

 

James is survived by his children, Beverly Miller, Gail (Roger) Mieden, Bonnie Malzacher, Linda (Scott) Smrcina, Bill (Karen Arentz) Miller, Phyllis (Ron) Rask, Peggy (Brent) Hooverson, Ken Malzacher, Vana Miller; grandchildren, Andy, Kelly, Danny, Barry, Adam, Mykala, Maria, Jeri, Amber, Gunnar, Robin, Cody; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Doc (Lois) Miller; sisters, Zona Shisler, Jane (Harlan) Jerome; sister-in-law, Arlene Miller; loving companion, Joyce Johnson and her family; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

James is preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 brother.

 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 5:00 PM at the Loyal Order of the Moose- Lodge #1920, 1932 Ward Ave., La Crosse. Rev. Ron Jury will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 PM the day of the service at the Moose Lodge. Interment will be Monday at Oxbow Cemetery. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

His fantastic sense of humor will be greatly missed.
