James “Jim” John Shafer
James “Jim” John Shafer, 78, of Chippewa Falls, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2017. He was born on May 4, 1939 to Raymond and Alice (Connelly) Shafer. He married Barbara Fiscoe on August 17, 1977 in Hudson, MA. He was a man with a quick wit and sense of humor. Jim was an avid Packer fan. He enjoyed photography, camping, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved history and the sciences. Jim’s love for the Lord was present in his everyday life.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Rob, Kathy, John, Jim, Kevin (Michelle), Joel (Michelle), Jen (Erin); 12 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren; brother, Rodney Shafer. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judith Hagen; and niece, Melissa Norquist.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Mary Bassing, Katie Germain NP, the staff at Lakeview Care Center, Dr. Jackie Yaeger, and Pastor Jonathan Unverzagt.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 1 PM at Christ Is Lord Church, 1269 County Rd PH, Onalaska, WI. In lieu of flowers, monetary offers to the family would be appreciated.
