Jane Marilyn Strozewski

Jane Marilyn Strozewski (nee Beno) of West Salem passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the age of 63, after her long battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).  She was born on August 6, 1960, in New London, WI to Delbert and Rosemarie Beno.

Jane had contagious energy that could light up any room and she was not shy about speaking her mind.  She was a graduate of Madison Memorial High School, and went on to obtain her degree in nursing from Western Technical College becoming an RN.  Unfortunately, her nursing career was cut short due to consequences of MS, and was forced to leave the profession.   Even when MS took away her ability to walk, she continued to stay active and fiercely defended her independence.  She regularly attended Riverfest and Oktoberfest with family, always eager for holidays and birthday celebrations, and would routinely be cruising around downtown or catching the bus to make a shopping trip out to the mall.

Jane was preceded in death by her father and mother, Delbert Beno and Rosemarie Beno; brother, Paul Beno; and nephew, Christopher Beno.

She is survived by her children Anthony (Tracie Stinson) Gingrasso, Nicholas (Amanda) Gingrasso, Joseph (Beth Scheel) Gingrasso, Ashley (Eric Christianson) Gingrasso, and Hunter (Alisha Carroll) Strozewski.  Grandchildren Peter, Luca, Viola, Dominic, Luciano, Giovanni, Antonia, Brexley, Payson, Athena, Ares, Nox, and Neo. She further survived by her siblings, Linda (Dave) Fitzgerald,  Mark (Mary) Beno, Tena Beno, and Dawn (Larry) Joachim. She is further survived by other nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Jane’s family would like to express their deepest thanks to all her caregivers throughout the years, who helped make it possible for her to live as independently as possible.

A celebration of life will be held on July 7, 2024, at Myrick Park Main Shelter from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Condolences

Very sad loss! We were ‘bus buddies) I hadn’t seen Jane in a long while but each time I did we had conversations. I knew she had been an RN and bet she was outstanding in that career. RIP Jane your amazing smile is missed by all.

Jane was an inspiration in fearlessness and will to face the world, to not let circumstances define her.
