Jeanne Annelu Nilsson

Jeanne Annelu Nilsson, 95, formerly of Minneapolis, MN, Bloomington, MN, Sherman, TX , and Hot Springs Village, AR passed away peacefully on October 15, 2019 in her Onalaska, WI home.

She was born in Minneapolis on March 21, 1924 to Martin and Olga (Johnson) Carlson. She married the love of her life, Donald F. Nilsson in Minneapolis on February 10, 1945.

Jeanne was an accomplished gourmet cook who loved to entertain her friends. She was a talented needle-worker and knitter who shared her many creations with family and friends. She loved gardening and shared plants and gardening know-how with everyone interested. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Donald F. Nilsson, daughter Candace Maxwell (Andrew), son Craig  (Cristeen Custer), granddaughters Jesse McKinney, Corey Dressel, Emily Maxwell (Travis Seigenthaler), grandson James Maxwell (Jacklyn), and great-grandchildren Jack Misch, Rayna, Peter and Jesse Dressel, Charlie, Ella, Oliver and Owen McKinney, and Isabell and Kady Seigenthaler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Olga Carlson, her two sisters, Shirley Anderson and Emily Reichel, and her two brothers, Martin Jr. (Sonny) and William Carlson, along with many dear friends.

The family would like to thank Gunderson Lutheran Hospice and Inclusa Home Health workers who became her new friends, made her feel loved and cared for, and allowed it to be possible for Jeanne to end her days in her own home.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers Jeanne requested memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
