Obituary
Jeffrey Lynn Wallace
Jeffrey Lynn Wallace, also known as “Sarge” or “Wally” lost his two and a half year battle with cancer on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025 at the age of 71 surrounded by his family.
Jeff met the love of his life Cathlene June Teela back in October of 1974. They married in Madison, WI on August 20th, 1977. They then moved to West Salem in late 1980 and raised their two children, Kelli and Jared. Jeff enjoyed life, music, his grandchildren and most of all being a drummer. He was very proud of winning drummer of the year in LaCrosse three years in a row (1971-1973). He enjoyed camping with friends and the infamous golf cart rides, hunting with family and dancing on the deck with Kate. He spent a lot of time at his dad’s gas station hanging with “The Guy’s”, fixing cars and a huge Green Bay Packer Fan. He also enjoyed cooking and grilling for friends and family.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Betty Wallace, his brother Larry Wallace, his niece Kimberly Wallace, his brother-in-law Darold Thornton, a sister-in-law Cris Welk and his father-in-law Steady Eddy Teela.
He is survived by his wife Cathlene (Cathi/Kate) Wallace, daughter Kelli Wallace, son Jared (Ashley) Wallace, and his three grandchildren Zoe, Weston and Eddilynn Wallace. Jeff is also survived by his two sisters Deanna Thornton and Kathleen Wallace, his mother-in-law Dyanne Teela, nieces, nephews and many cousins.
He was a loving husband, father, grandpa & friend. He will forever be missed and never forgotten. Jeff’s Celebration of LIfe will be held at the Onalaska American Legion on Sunday February 23rd, 2025 at 1:00pm – 6:00pm. We invite all to come have a “Team Drink” and celebrate his life. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
I want to extend my heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Berger family. Growing up, I had the privilege of watching Jeff play music alongside my Uncle, Dan Berger. To us, Jeff was more than just a dear friend to Dan; he truly felt like part of our family. His vibrant spirit and the warmth of his kind, loving soul touched the lives of everyone around him. Jeff had a unique ability to bring smiles and joy to countless faces, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the fortune of knowing him. Thank you, Jeff, for the wonderful memories that will forever remain in our hearts. You will be profoundly missed.
Dawn Rodriguez, Marlene Berger, and Family.

I was sorry to hear about Jeff’s illness and passing. I babysat for the Wallaces many years ago. They have always been a couple and a family that stuck out in my memories from my high school years. My heart goes out to the family.
