Obituary

John “Jack” Reinsvold

November 12, 2021

John ‘Jack’ Gerald Reinsvold, 90, of La Crosse passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021. Dads input was simply, I lived, I died.

Jack served in the Navy during the Korean War.  He was an avid UW-L sports fan, a member of the basketball support club, the Back Court Club for more than 20 years and a member of the Quarterback club for 25 years.  His community involvement included the La Crosse businessmen’s association, the La Crosse Chamber Commerce as an Ambassador, American Legion and the Jaycees.  After retiring as assistant vice-president from First Federal Savings and Loan travel became his passion.

Jack loved visiting family in his travels.  His favorite past time was sharing favorite memories such as his joy in going over the Mackinac Bridge and seeing wild albino deer.  With the scariest travel memory of  almost being forced off a mountain road by a semi.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Cynthia (Peter) Curtis of Holmen, Jean Backlund of DeSoto, Lori (David) Ruegg of Onalaska, and 4 sons, John Reinsvold of Viola, William Reinsvold of La Crosse, Steven (Susan) Reinsvold of La Crosse and Daniel (Becky) Reinsvold of Onalaska.  23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and 3 sisters-in-law.

Jack was predeceased by his wife of almost 60 years, Loretta (Strand) Reinsvold, his parents Johnnie and Wilma (Harris) Reinsvold, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and spouses.

The family would like to thank his granddaughter Katie and the care providers at Gundersen Lutheran Hospice for making his final weeks comfortable.

At this time there will be no services.

Condolences
