ROCKLAND — Joyce Roselyn (Moe) Urban, 81, of Rockland passed away peacefully Sept. 18, 2021, at her Cabin in Rockland WI.

She was born February 2, 1940, to Clarence and Eleanor Moe.  She was married to Verlan D. Urban July 1, 1961, in Holmen.

Joyce grew up with her 8 siblings in Holmen WI and graduated from Holmen High School in 1958.

Joyce attended Technical College in La Crosse, WI. She worked for the La Crosse Lutheran Clinic and then worked for Trane La Crosse.  Joyce moved with her husband, Verlan; and her son Brendon to Charlotte NC where she worked & retired as a State Farm Insurance Agent.  She greatly enjoyed working with all of her co-workers.

She was a woman who loved the natural earth. Her farm and garden were her special place to talk to God. Joyce enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, quilting (award winning), drafting, gardening, traveling and camping with her husband, sons, family and friends. After she retired, Joyce loved to enjoy the beauty of the earth through her camping trips with her husband, Verlan. She was a mother who inspired her sons to do well, and they have. She loved to host Halloween campouts at the farm and took great joy in the laughter and good times.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Darrell (Lisa) of La Crosse, Doug (Jackie) of Rockland, Brendon of Mount Holly, N.C.; grandchildren, Jordan, Hayden; sisters, Gloria Cassel, Mollie (Doug) Haskell; brothers, Burton, Hjal Jonsen; sister-in-laws Barbara Moe, Joanne Moe, Marvalene Sosinsky, Vernetta Moe and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Verlan; parents, Clarence and Eleanor (Casberg) Moe; in-laws, Ed and Tillie Urban; brothers, Arthur, Homer,  Aldin, Clayton, sister-in-laws, Donna Urban, Jan Moe, Leatrice Moe; and brother-in-laws, Donald Cassel, Harlan Urban, Herbert Sosinsky.

Joyce would like to thank all of the family and friends who have been supportive during this difficult time, as well as the staff at Mayo Hospice & Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse for their special care.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Joyce from 11:30a.m to 2 p.m. Saturday Oct. 2nd, 2021 at the Urban Family Farm, 4875 Iberia Ave, Rockland WI 54653. Lunch will be served from 12 (noon) to 1pm with a service following at 1pm. The Rev. Don Ehler will officiate.
