July 16, 2025 | 3 comments

Judy L. (Toerpe) Krueger, age 77, received her angel wings, took the Lord’s hand, and was called home on Saturday evening, July 12, 2025.

Born on January 11, 1948, in Plymouth, Wisconsin, Judy was the beloved daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Curtiss) Toerpe.

Judy was known for her unwavering work ethic, her natural charisma, and her fierce love for her family. She wore her heart on her sleeve – honest, open, and never afraid to speak her mind. Over the years, she dedicated herself to her work at Nob Hill and Perkins Family Restaurant, where she built lasting friendships and cherished memories that stayed with her throughout her life.

Her favorite place was at the campground, where she felt most at home surrounded by the sounds of nature and the people she loved. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Whether sharing laughter with family and friends or quietly enjoying the outdoors, Judy found happiness in life’s simple moments.

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Krueger of Onalaska, WI; her children, Scott (Stefanie) Bahr of Spokane, WA, Tammy (Dan) Pertile of Hancock, MI, and Angie (Scott) Zietlow of Onalaska, WI; her stepson, Mike Krueger of Holmen, WI; and her nine cherished grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings: Jacqueline (Steven) Puksich of Sheboygan, WI, James (Marcia) Toerpe of Manitowoc, WI, Jerry (Suanne) Toerpe of Sheboygan, WI, John (Jonell) Toerpe of Sheboygan, WI, and JoAnn (Jeff) Corullo of Mercer, WI. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Helen and her sister-in-law: Patrcia Toerpe.

A celebration of Judy’s life will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street in Onalaska, Wisconsin. Coulee Cremation is assisting with the arrangements. Family and friends may gather from 10:00-11:30 AM. At 11:30 AM a memorial service will be held with a luncheon to follow.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the entire staff at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center for all the care and compassion given to Judy.

We are so sorry to hear of Judy’s passing. Tom and Judy were our first neighbors at the campground. She always had a smile on and greeted me every weekend to hear what was new and happening during our week. She will be missed
Our love and prayers to your family. Sending a big hug to Tom

Judy was a wonderful family friend and aim so sorry to hear this news. My children and family loved Judy and her positive attitude when we would visit my parents, Mary Lou and Ken Balts at Lake Neshonoc. She will forever be known as the best kale chip maker to our boys! Hugs to you Tom and your entire family.
