Jurrella “Jill” Bailey passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on August 6, 2021 in La Crosse, WI. She was 78.

Jill was born on September 21, 1942 in Viroqua, WI and she is preceded in death by her parents Jessie Everson and Fred Howell. She married the love of her life Marvin Bailey on July 3rd, 1982. The Baileys lived in Phoenix, AZ the majority of their married life where Jill worked for 21 years at Chambers Belt Company they then moved to Russellville, AR where she worked at ConAgra Foods for another 5 ½ years. She retired in 2006 and dedicated her remaining time to her children, her sisters, caring for her grandchildren, traveling with Marvin, long walks around Angel Lake, and attending her local church.

Everyone who knew and had the privilege to love Jill and be loved by her knows she was a one of a kind human being who had the kindest heart. She is someone who used her life to influence those around her, and we are all incredibly lucky and blessed to have had her in our lives. Her bright spirit and the memories we all share is something that will live on forever.

Jill is survived by her loving husband Marvin Bailey, her daughters and son-in-laws, Betty (Ray) Marach; Janine (Fred) Guthrie; her stepson and family Mark (Kathy) Bailey; her step daughter and family Beth (Mick) Hawes; her sisters Eunice Hastings, Sandra Pedretti, Eloda Penchi,and Sylvia Howell; her brothers Karl Howell and James Howell; her grandchildren Marie (Christian) Heath, Nicole Sens, and Fredrick Guthrie; her step-grandchildren Drew Hawes, Jade Hawes, Max and Nicole Bailey, Carson Cameron, and Andrew (AJ) Bailey; her sister-in-laws Helen Howell, Maureen Bunny Henig, and Sharon Bailey; her brother-in-law Joe Wright; her god children Susan Sordahl and Patrick Penchi; her best friends Margret Hansen and Margareta Overbo. She is preceded in death by her brothers Martin Howell, Veldo Howell, Pete Fredrick Howell, Joseph Howell, Silas Howell, Beuford Howell, and Myron (Tudd) Howell.

Jill will be buried in a private ceremony at St. Charles Cemetery in Genoa, WI at a later date. A Celebration of life will take place on August 15th at 12 p.m. at The Genoa Ballpark. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jill’s wonderful life.
