Kenneth Wesley Davidson
Kenneth Wesley Davidson, 82, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at the Tomah VA Medical Center. He was born on May 8, 1932 to Kenneth Sr and Elva (Metz) Davidson. He married Helen (Nelson) Meissner on June 11, 1983 in La Crosse.
Kenny enjoyed fishing and the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He joined the US Army July 26, 1950 and served in the Korean War, where he was wounded in combat and received a Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 417, and was a member of the 40 and 8. He worked for the La Crosse school district for 26 years.
He is survived by his wife; son, Daniel; step daughters, Brenda (Sean) Hanson, Teresa Meissner; grandchildren, Brendan Meissner, Cassie Meissner, Logan Smizek; brother, David (Monica) Davidson; niece, Karen (Vic) Jackson; and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and step father Carl Lycan.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Tomah Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center including his physician, nurses, care providers, and a special thank you to Helene.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 5:00 pm at the Coulee Region Cremation Group and Funeral Home, 133 Mason Street in Onalaska. Chaplain Neil Collins will officiate with military honors. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
