Kim Eugene Coelin

Kim Eugene Coelin, 56 of Galesville, WI passed away on July 8, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, WI.  He fought hard to battle cancer since 2014 and was ready to go on his new journey.  Kim was born on November 9, 1958 to Eugene and Dorothy (Denson) Coelin in La Crosse, WI.  In 1980, he married Jodi Wolfe from Stevenstown, WI and they later divorced.  In 1992, he married Roxanne Coelin (Miller) from West Salem, WI and they later divorced.  In 2010 he married Traci Onsgard from West Salem, WI.

Kim worked many various jobs throughout his life and his greatest accomplishment was beating an addiction to drugs in 2002.  This brought him to his career as a halfway house manager, adult family home manager, and AODA outreach worker for Coulee Youth Centers, Inc. in La Crosse, WI.  He retired in 2011 when he began experiencing his illness. Kim loved classic cars, tinkering and woodworking. Kim was also a very talented musician, playing guitar, drums, bass, violin, banjo and piano.  He and his wife formed a small acoustic duo, Chasing Tales, and they performed at various gatherings, weddings and other gigs.  Kim was also a Reverend with the ULC and was a very spiritual soul.

He is survived by his wife Traci, their two dogs, Duke and Piper, seven children, Stacy (Josh) Coelin of La Crosse, Kimberly Coelin of La Crosse, Joni Wolfe of Minneapolis, MN, Zachary Steege of Galesville, Kalab Steege of Winona, MN, Kace Coelin of La Crosse, and Jedidiah Steege of Galesville, six grandchildren, Katie, Gypsy, Abigail, Calvin, Alexis and Ryker, three sisters, Pam Walgren (Dan) of New Glarius, WI, Debirah (Kevin) Peterson of Doran, MN, Kathleen Nontelle of LaCrosse and two brothers, David (Melissa) Coelin of West Salem, and Ric (Kitty) of Bangor.  Kim is also survived by his many nieces and nephews and many cousins and two great nieces Harmony and Kadance Dobbs, who were very special to him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, three brothers, Dennis, Larry and Randy, and one great nephew, Silas.

Services will be held at Coulee Region Cremation Group located at 133 Mason St. Onalaska, WI on Monday July 13, 2015. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm with the service to follow at 4pm. Interment will follow at a later date. Reverend Jackie Berke from Sioux City, IA will be officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse Cancer Center and ICU staff for their care and loving kindness.
