Larry Leonard Trammell

Larry Leonard Trammell, age 71,  of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Tomah VA Medical Center.  He was born on November 15, 1946 to Leonard and Wahneta Trammell.  He married Kathy Satek on May 1, 1970 in Honolulu, HI.

Larry served his country in the United States Army from 1969 – 1971.  Larry worked in the biology department at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse for 32 years.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed travelling especially to Jamaica and wintering in South Padre Island.  He enjoyed the company of many friends and he will be greatly missed.

Larry is survived by his wife, Kathy; his sisters, Mary Burnett, Barbara (Jim) Walters; brother in law, Larry (Pam) Satek; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis; and brother in law, Robert Burnett.

The family would like to thank the staff at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, the William S Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, and the Tomah VA Medical Center.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Memorials in Larry’s name may be given to the Larry Trammell Microbiology Prep Room Scholarship, The Coulee Region Humane Society, or the charity of your choice.

Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

    My sincere condolences. I remember the fun years we all had bowling together. Larry was quite the angler.

    My sympathy to you in Larry’s passing. I recall Stuart speaking respectfully of the work Larry did in the Biology Department. Larry was one of those people a department depends on to function properly. Perhaps he was retired but I am certain he will be missed.
