Lawrence “Larry” Joseph Pelock
Lawrence (Larry) Joseph Pelock of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin died Tuesday May 11that Crossing River’s Health hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
He was born December 1, 1940 in Prairie du Chien, the son of John (Jack) Joseph and Helen Mary (DuCharme) Pelock. He graduated from Prairie du Chien High school in 1959, joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard serving from1968 to 1974.In 1968 he married Carol (Titlbach) and later divorced.
Larry was the co owner of Pelock Brother’s Construction Company and prior to that he worked for American Motors and WisconsinBridge and Block. Later he worked at Kramer and Kramer, Darold Berger Masonry, Gencor-Bituma Corp, Cabala’sand Walmart. He was most proud of his finishing masonry and carpentry skills. He was exceptional at job set up, management.
He enjoyed spending time on the Plum Creek family farm, gardening, fishing, and hunting. He especially enjoyed visits from family and friends at his Limery Road residence. He was a big fan of the Prairie du Chien Blackhawks, Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Children: daughter, Heather Pelock Hjelle (Tony) of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; son, Heath Pelock (Rachel Brownie) of Viroqua, Wisconsin. Grandchildren: Braxton Hjelle, Claire Hjelle, Emma Hjelle of Rhinelander, Oliver Pelock of Viroqua and Katie Hakes of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
Siblings: Roger (Mary Ellen) Pellock, Karen (Benedict) O’Meara, Diane (George) Matzat, Rhona (Sylvan) Quinn, John (Gay) Pelock and Dennis (Cathy) Pelock. He has19 nieces and nephews. Special friend Nancy Sutton.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Helen Pelock, Roger Pellock, Diane Matzat, George Matzat, Benedict O’Meara, Gay Pelock and Jeffery Geisler.
A mass will be held Monday June 6th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Eastman, Rev. Victor Feltes officiating with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church for a visitation from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family is organizing the services and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Wenceslaus parish for the youth scholarship fund or the Larry Pelock scholarship fund providing college scholarship for the Southwest Technical College Bricklaying and Masonry programhonoring Larry’s strong work ethic and benevolent spirit. I worked with Larry at berger and kraemer bros.. He has left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with. Anytime his name came up ,it was accompanied with a smile and usually some unforgettable memories. Thank you.
