Lee Walter Kelly

Lee Walter Kelly, 65 of La Crosse passed away on December 09, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

Lee was born on October 24, 1958 to Martin and Elizabeth Kelly. Lee spent most of his childhood in La Crosse and a lot of time with his grandmother Margaret Kelly.

 In the 1970’s Lee moved to Rochester, Minnesota and attended mechanic school at Rochester Vocational School. In Rochester Lee met the love of his life, Diane Hofbauer. They were married February 16, 1980 and Lee and Diane were blessed with two children,  Alan (Kelli) Kelly of West Salem, and Laura (Curtis) Stettner of La Crosse. Lee has four beautiful grandchildren Caleb, Keayrah, Brynlee and Crowley

Lee enjoyed truck in’s and belonged to Vaners Unlimited. Boating, camping, campfires, music, road trips and the love of the great outdoors. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Lee loved his cat, Captain Jack. Lee passed away from cirrhosis of the liver a disease which he had been fighting for the last 6 years.

Lee is survived by his wife Diane, son Allan (Kelli) Kelly and daughter Laura (Curtis) Stettner, four grandchildren and his brother Richard Kelly of Chattfield, Minnesota, two brothers-in-law, Stanley (Susan) Hofbauer and Donald Hofbauer of Rochester, Minnesota, three sisters-in-law Robin (Donald) McEwen of Austin, Minnesota, Tammy Hofbauer of Rochester, Minnesota and Sherry (Rod) Scharberg.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Elizabeth, sister, Dianne (Mark) Stuzutman, niece Megan Kelly and brother-in-law Rodney Hofbauer.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a visitation at 11:00 a.m. at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street Onalaska, WI 54650.

Memorials to the family are preferred.

    Lee loved the color green. If you have some green to wear! Please do. Packer clothing would really make him smile!
