Lee Wilcox (aka: Virginia Lukert) passed away on January 8, 2026 at the age of 95 in La Crosse WI. She was born on February 24, 1930 in Speonk, NY.

She lived in Sonoma County, CA from 1993 – 2016 and was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Sonoma and sang with the Sonoma Valley Chorale for 22 years.

Lee was a versatile musician, from piano, flute, bell ringing, drumming, and voice. In her final years with dementia visits with a music therapist continued to foster joy for Lee, as she sang old tunes and played percussive instruments weekly.

Lee is survived by her sister, Elaine Batts; daughter, Sharon (Frank Mauss) Lukert; son-in-law Joseph Trujillo; grandchildren Allison and Kale, and great granddaughter Scarlett; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lukert, and daughter, Janet (Lukert) Trujillo.

Lee was outgoing and social, creating life-long friendships wherever she lived. She will be remembered for her compassionate heart, always caring for others as a mother, wife, and nurse, even in the memory care facility, she expressed concern for those around her.
