LeRoy H. Seidel
LeRoy H. Seidel, 88, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on December 24th, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with an aggressive form of leukemia. Born on December 7th, 1936, in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Augusta and Ernest Seidel. LeRoy grew up on a family farm, where he learned the values of hard work and dedication alongside his siblings.
LeRoy proudly served in the United States Army and later became a respected member of his community, contributing to organizations such as the Chaseburg Rod and Gun Club, American Legion Post 52, and the Eagles Club/VFW. His career spanned many years at Crane Supply, Westburn Supply, First Supply, and later, Coulee Region Mechanical. His commitment to his work was a testament to his loyal and industrious spirit.
LeRoy was a devoted father and cherished the role he played in their lives. He married Barbara Role and together they had 4 sons and later divorced. He then found his soulmate, Delores, and spent 38 beautiful years together. Their love and companionship enriched the lives of all who knew them. LeRoy had a gift of forming lasting friendships and was often found enjoying laughter and camaraderie at the Thirsty Turtle & Sportsview.
LeRoy found joy in life’s simple pleasures- driving through the countryside where he grew up with Delores by his side and playing cards with his close friends & family, especially great-grandson, Alex. He was a content and humble man, deeply grateful for the love of his family.
He is survived by his loving companion Delores; his sons, Richard (Linda), Dean (Debbie), Dan (Lisa), and Tony (Karina); his grandchildren, Ashley (Brandon), RJ, Riley (Alex), Lydia (Luke), Ben (Erin), Olivia and his five great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his four sisters, Elaine Borger, Ruth Meinertz, Marilyn Schmaltz, Jean Garvalia and two brothers, Ervin “Bud” Seidel and Paul Seidel, along with Delores’s stepchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Augusta and Ernest and his brother, David.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Thomes, Alyssa Deviley PA-C, and the Gundersen Health System’s in-home hospice team for their compassionate care during LeRoy’s final days.
LeRoy’s life was a testament to hard work, loyalty, and love. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew & loved him.
