Obituary

Lillian A. Hill

October 16, 2011

Lillian A. Hill, 85, passed away peacefully at the Onalaska Care Center on Friday, October 14, 2011 with her loving boys at her side.

Lillian was born on February 2, 1926 to Mabel (Erickson) and Alfred Breiwick in the Town of Hamilton.

She graduated from Melrose-Mindoro High School. Lillian took piano lessons and became an accomplished piano player, and later gave piano lessons.

She met the love of her life, Harold (Bud) Hill at a dance at the Log Cabin in Bangor. They married on April 13, 1946 in Sparta at the Congregational Church. They were married 49 years until the time of Bud’s death on November 14, 1993. They made a loving home for their family in Onalaska. Bud and Lillian were life-long members of First Lutheran Church in Onalaska and were very active in the Church. Lillian and Bud had a very adventurous life that took them all over the United States on their Honda Goldwing.

Lillian loved being a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took great pride in her cooking and baking. She loved to sew, collect buttons, stamps, antiques, dishes and recipes. Lillian especially enjoyed her quiet times working in her flower garden where she had her rock collection and watched the humming birds feed on her phlox.

She treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren when they went to the park. She also valued the time she spent with family and friends playing cards.

She went to work after her children became school aged and worked at JC Pennys in the office and Sears in the Customer Service Department. Lillian and Bud also were distributors for Shaklee and eventually became supervisors and received a car for their promotional sales. After retirement, Lillian and Bud went to Texas for the winter. She took the trip of a lifetime when she took a cruise to Alaska and British Columbia with her sister and nephew.

Lillian is survived by her four children, Blair (Jean) Hill, Brant (Kim) Hill, Bradford (Karlene) Hill, and Greg Hill; grandchildren, Nicole (Jesse) Plomedahl, Ben Hill, Brady Hill, Mari (Ben) Black, Kristina Hill; great-grandchildren, Trevor and Chesney Plomedahl, Kaela and Quincy Hill; brothers, Stanley (Betty) Breiwick, Allison (Caroline) Breiwick; step-granddaughter, Brittney Hanson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
