Linda Ann Downing (Carson)
Linda Ann Downing(Carson), passed away May 5th, 2016. Surrounded in the love and comfort of family. Linda passed from this world in the home that she loved and made beautiful in Bangor, Wisconsin. She was born Nov. 3, 1961, in Chicago, Ill., to Doris Gray.
She was an adventurous little girl with spunk, often considered a tomboy. As the eldest, she took on a maternal role with her siblings.Through the years she grew into a exquistite young woman, active in library and yearbook club. Letting her rock and roll soul come out on the weekends She was always hungry for knowledge and immersed herself in her studies. She graduated from Cashton High in 1979. She continued her studies at Western Technical, while working in factories and raising her three children.
She made her career with the State Public Defender for 18 years as a legal secretary. She took great pride in what she did, had a strong work ethic, and showed heart to her clients. An alturist, she never lost faith in people or their ability to change. She loved the outdoors and being productive. If she wasn’t doing, she wasn’t living. Gardening, camping, canoeing, fishing in the summer. Sewing, knitting, crafting, thrifting, canning and reading in the winter. She had an affinity for ladybugs, dancing and godess figurines She was always engaging with her grandchildren, and loved playing with them on the floor. A resourceful woman, sewing her daughters clothes for their dolls and growing her own food. A genuine woman, she loved openly and was very frank on where she stood on the issues.
Her legacy will carry on in the way she impacted the people she encountered. Her fierce maternal instinct, rebelious nature, well meaning candor, wicked sense of humor, the silver lining in every cloud. She was our witchy, gypsy woman.
She is survived by her loving husband Monte Downing. Her adoring children; Corey Carson, Hanah Carson, Whitney Milde(Joshua). Her grandchildren; Aiden Ballman, Celeste Carson, Alexander Carson and Charles Milde. Her siblings; Denise Brown(Ralph), Deborah Hartline Marr, Cassandra Cash, Shane Cash and Aaron Winter Gray. As well as countless aunts, cousins, neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother Doris Gray, and grandmother Louise Cash. Her family expresses deep gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Saint Francis, as well the unrivaled hopice staff. Coulee Region Cremation Group and Sunshine on the Trail.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 4th @ the former Baptist church on the corner of Badger and 17th Ave N in Bangor from 2pm-5pm.

Wayne and family, our sincere sympathy to you all on the passing of Linda. I don’t believe i had the privilege of knowing your wife, mother and grandmother but i can imagine the hole left by her passing. I went to school with Wayne in Cashton years ago and wanted to share our sympathy.
