LA CROSSE, WI — Linda Doris (Olson) Goede, 81, of La Crosse passed away Saturday, October 6th, 2012; surrounded by family and friends after a battle with cancer that she fought hard until the end.

She was born to John Helmer Olson and Luella (Rostvold) Olson on December 23, 1930 in Fillmore County, Minn.

Linda was the third of seven siblings. Surviving siblings are Irene Walter, Virgil Olson, Tony (Sher) Olson, Theresa Haskey, Deanna (Leo) Harpstreith.

Linda was united in marriage to Ralph N. Goede on March 26, 1949. They made their home and raised nine children together on the family farm near Hokah, MN. They later divorced.

Linda enjoyed collecting angels, reading, walking, family visits, and chocolate.

Surviving children are Vicky Goede, Rich (Debbie Menominee), Cindy Goede, Bill, Danny (Jonna), Jason, Paul (David Donaldson), and Jerry; ten grandchildren, Andy Kehr, Bill Goede, Russell and Erik Dale, Michelle and Brandon Goede, Matt and Jeff Goede, Ahna and Kirah Goede; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Kehr, Ryder Hoerter, and Kylar Hellerud. Also surviving, one uncle Harley Rostvold; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Russell Goede; a granddaughter Tamara Prenatt; and siblings Verna Salvaggio and Jerry Olson.

In accordance with Linda’s wishes, her body will be cremated.
A gathering for family and friends will take place on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with reflections at 7:30 pm, at St. Andrew’s Square in Boot Hill Pub, 1501 St. Andrew St., La Crosse. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
