Lisa Anne Ahle

July 12, 2011

LA CRESCENT, Minn. — Lisa Anne Ahle, 53, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011, from lung cancer.

Lisa was born on Nov. 26, 1957, to Allen and Judith Ann (Seigle) Adelin in Passaic, N.J. Lisa was a descendent of Russian Jews who immigrated to the United States around the turn of the century. She grew up in Lincoln Park and Pequannock, N.J., with her younger brother Andy Adelin. She also spent many years in nearby Clifton, N.J. She especially loved spending time at the New Jersey Shore.

Lisa married Steven Ahle and together they had a son, Stevie. They later parted ways.

Lisa’s mother, Judith, was a professional piano player and singer and she taught Lisa to play the piano. She had many fond memories of her mother’s performances.

Professionally, Lisa was a Retirement Plan Account Manager and worked for Nationwide, New York Life and the Newport Group here in La Crosse. She loved her job and especially enjoyed sharing her knowledge and providing service to her many clients.

She also dearly loved her dog, Snuggles and her cat Callie. She would like to thank the Coulee Region Humane Society for taking in her cat when she could no longer care for him.

Lisa enjoyed reading a good book, visiting the mountains, road trips, visiting with her friends and family and schmoozing which she was particularly good at.

She is survived by her son, Stevie of The Plains, Ohio; her brother and his wife, Andy and Cynthia Adelin, and their children, Adam and Jennifer of Pequannock N.J. She is also survived by her friends, Margaret Iuso, Donna Boffoli, Jeannie Corcoran, Sara Roraff, Pat Justin and Sherry Poler.

Due to the rapid deterioration of her health, Lisa was not able to return home to New Jersey. Lisa said many times however, that if she had to end up anywhere besides home, this would be the place she would have chosen.

She would like to thank the staff at Gundersen Lutheran for the excellent care provided to her throughout the course of her illness.

She would also like to thank the residents and staff of the Golden Living Center in La Crescent, Minn., for their care and concern.

Lisa spent her last days surrounded by the beautiful bluffs of La Crescent, Minnesota, listening to the singing of the multitudes of birds and talking with all the caring and wonderful people at the Center.

The Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family. Following Lisa’s wishes, her earthly remains will be cremated and scattered in the mountains. A memorial service will be held for Lisa in New Jersey at a later date. Lisa was asked what she would want her family and friends to know when she could no longer communicate with them and she replied, “How much I adore them and love them.“

Condolences
