Loretta Mae Reinsvold, of La Crosse, 80, passed away May 29, 2012 in her home surrounded by family.

Loretta was born September 11, 1931 to Stone B. and Rose J. (Kindhammer) Strand. She was born and died in the same room of the home her father built. She was united in marriage to John (Jack) G. Reinsvold, September 13, 1952. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in September.

 

Loretta graduated from Aquinas High School in 1949. She worked many part time jobs until she married Jack and was a stay at home mom raising 7 kids. Her hobbies included bowling, playing bingo and going to casinos.

 

She is survived by her loving husband, Jack, of La Crosse; 3 daughters, Cynthia L. (Peter) Curtis of Galesville, Jean M. Backlund of La Crosse, Lori A. (David) Ruegg of Onalaska, and 4 sons, John G. Reinsvold of Viola, William S. Reinsvold of Brice Prairie, Steven S. (Susan) Reinsvold of La Crosse and Daniel R. (Becky) Reinsvold of Onalaska. 24 grandchildren, Brian, Melissa, Rowdy, Colton, Hailey Reinsvold; Cina Bluske, Cory Curtis, Cali (Mark) Kline; Angela & John Courtney, Jamie & Kyle Backlund; Heather & Adam Reinsvold; Damien, Krista, Cody, Katelyn Reinsvold; Michael, Matthew & Loretta Ruegg; Jackson Reinsvold. Step-grandkids, Justin & Kevin Stuhr. (16) great-grandchildren, Madyson, Tyler, Jayda Bluske; Ireland Curtis; Clayton, Kline; Brianna Courtney; Ava & Alana Backlund; Abigail Reinsvold; Lily, Mackenzie, Carlie, Dylan & Aiden Reinsvold; Austin Stuhr; Alayna Reinsvold. 1 sister Gladys (Jerry) Sibole of Michigan and 1 brother Arnold (LaVonne) Strand of La Crosse. 3 sister-in-laws; Jane, Mary & Pico Reinsvold and 1 brother-in-law Darryl Houseal.

 

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Dorothy Vertein and Robert Strand and her dear friends Marilyn Wittenberg and Dorothy Hoesley.

 

Her last words were: “Let’s go to the boat”.

 

The family would like to thank the care providers at Gundersen Lutheran Hospice and to Fr. Larry Berger.

 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St., Onalaska, WI. The Rev. Larry Berger will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
