Marion Frances Freagon, 79, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully and gracefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

She was born on October 25, 1932 to Henry and Elvira Stermer. Marion married Donald Freagon on May 30, 1959 at the St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral in La Crosse.

 

Marion’s passion in life was caring for her family. She completed an extensive and comprehensive genealogy research project on her entire family. Marion’s other joys were cooking and baking, crafting, and reading.

 

She is survived by her husband, Don; daughters, Kim (Mike) Gram, Kalah (Joe) Haug; grandchildren, Lacy (Britton), Corey (Bridget), Storm, Ashley (Nick Grimslid); great-grandson, Maverick; sister, Lois (Andy) Locatelli (and Comet the reindeer); her dear cousin, Rosemary Thomas; her very special friends, Anna Herold, Alex Schanke, Hailee Schanke as well as many other relatives and friends.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elvira; and father-in-law, Bernard Freagon; and mother-in-law, Henrietta Freagon.

 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sig Bodvarsson, M.D., Michelle Hauck, M.D., Thomas Klemond, M.D., Stephanie Carroll, M.D., Jackie Yaeger, M.D., the Gundersen Lutheran Hospice team, especially Sandy, Laurie, Jessica, Michelle, Dianne, Teri and Kahla, the floor nurses and CNA’s, the ResCare Staff, especially Rachel and Carol, and Pastoral Care, especially Chaplains Ann and Allan.
