Obituary
Mary Lou Mormann
Mary Lou Mormann, 67, passed away Nov. 6. Mary was born May 13, 1946 in La Crosse, but spent many of her adult years as a nurse in nursing facilities in Milwaukee. She loved her chosen career and dedicated her life to helping families during times of illness. She retired in 2005 and returned to La Crescent. Mary and her sister, Colleen, built a home near the family farm west of La Crescent. They shared their home with their mother and cared for her during her last years.
Mary loved gardening, camping and decorating for the holidays. She loved all the seasons, but waited for spring and the beginning of gardening. Bulb catalogs, garden stores, and fresh dirt topped the list…only arrival of humminbirds was a more sought after event.
Mary was the daughter of Margaret and Gerald Mormann. They preceded her in death, as did her brother, Michael and nephews Duane and Brady.
Sibling survivors included David (Monica) of Tamp, Nicholas, William (Maxine), Colleen, Pam (Bruce) Harlos, and Mark all of La Crescent, Tim (Peggy) of Dresbach, Sandra (Phillip) Bautch of River Falls, Matt and Jeff (Mary) of La Crosse, Deborah (Bradly) Rodda of Spearville, Kan, Gretchen (Dan) McLees of Onalaska, Rebecca (Dan) Krieger, Linda (Randy) Holthaus, and Peggy Stankey of Bangor. Mary also had many nieces and nephews and 2 very special Aunt Jeans. All will miss her.
Colleen and Mary camped every summer at Money Creek Haven. Friends there will miss Mary, especially Maureen, Chuck and Norma. The charm Mary’s heart and her shadow at many events ws Stephanie LaSeure. Stephanie gave Mary the love that only a child can give to a mother. This is the story of many of the children at Country Kidds Day Care. In lieu of flowers send memorials to Country Kidd Day Care at 1740 Evans Hill Road, La Crescent, MN 55947. A memorial service will be planned and announced at a later date this summer. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
