Obituary
Michael “Mike” Eugene Stall
Mike passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 66 on Saturday, February 8, 2025. After a 4-year battle with ALS and Dementia.
Mike was born to Henry and Joanne Stall. He was a proud Northsider, he married Sandy “Sam” on April 4, 1987, together they had 3 children Jill (Nick), Bobbie Jo (Chase) and Ethan. He was a proud Bampa to Kaden, Hennli Jo, Brantley and Jax.
Mike initially worked for his father at Stall Electric, later starting his own business, Mike Stall Electric. Mike worked tirelessly to provide for his family, and he did a damn good job. He was a master electrician, and very proud of it. Although the workers on the job sites may have said he was an ornery SOB, he really did care deeply for those around him. Some call him Henry, but his all-time favorite was Bampa.
In his younger years, he enjoyed playing bar league softball, being the “grill master”, his lottery tickets and scratchies, hanging out on the Black River, going fishing, doing random projects around the house, listening to classic rock music and taking his annual trip to Green Bay, WI to watch his beloved Green Bay Packers.
Mike spent his last few years battling A.L.S and dementia. His Friday night outings to Fish’s was something he always looked forward to as well as his Corona and lime. We are eternally grateful to his Fish’s family for all the unending support, love and encouragement shown to Mike and his family during these difficult times.
Mike is survived by his wife of 38 years, his children and grandchildren. He is further survived by several brothers and sisters and his in-law family, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, father-in-law and his brothers Anthony, Bryan and Jonathan.
Throughout all of this, he had the absolute best and most sincerely caring team of doctors (Dr. Otis, Dr. Leone, N.P. Melissa Schulze and Dr. Chilsen), nurses and other medical staff. We couldn’t have asked for a better care team at Gundersen. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you to the 911 operator Ruth, officer Maske from the La Crosse Police Department and Medical Examiner Beth for comforting us all during this rough time.
So sorry for your loss…Hugs to you all. Sorry I will not make the Celebration of life but know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you Shelly.
Thanks for being the best big bother in the world! Rest in peace Mikey. Love, Lizzy

Love you Uncle Mike. I always loved talking Packers football with you. So many memories I will never forget. Watch over us…
My sincere Condolences Sandy and family and the whole Stall family. I have so many happy memories spent at the Stalls family home as a teenager. Mike was always one of the sweetest guys in the group we hung out with. I always enjoyed running into him through the years. Rest in peace and paradise Mike. You deserve it! Linda (Davidson) Frederick and Ken Frederick.
So Sorry for your loss Sandy and Family. Happy memories growing up with Mike. Mike is at peace now and no longer suffering!!
Sincere condolences to the extended Stall family. My heart goes out to you.
Mike grew up 2 houses from me. He was a great guy, family man & friend. In 10th grade our football coach told us our first time on defense, we should smack the guy in front of us from the other team. Who cares if we get a penalty, it will rattle them. Mike was very strong. So just before they hiked the ball Mike gave the guy a big hit & knocked the guy over. Then Mike started pointing at him yelling,”He moved!”. The refs talked it over & threw a flag on that guy saying yes he moved. I went over to Mike & he was laughing his ass off & said, “hey, that worked out really good”. I and many, will miss Mike
Mike and Henry worked on projects for me in 1979, 80 and 99. Mike did more work for me until about 2015. Henry and Joanne were wonderful parents and Mike was a great electrician. He would suggest adding outlets that I left off drawings and he was right every time. Mike’s grumbling gave him character. I would just laugh when he grumbled and he would shake his head and keep working. He did have a GOOD heart of gold and I really liked him.
Thank you for your kind words. I do remember Mike talking about you. I know he liked you and working with /for you.
What a great person, amazing work ethic and a true northsider! Mike wired my house and I still see his handwriting on the wires in my utility room, always a great reminder of him and how grateful I am for his help. The Stall family is in our thoughts and prayers. Mike will be missed. – Rob & Anne Abraham
