Anna Marie (Stendahl) Olson
Anna Marie (Stendahl) Olson, 86, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on Oct. 10, 2017 at Mayo Health System in La Crosse.
Anna was born July 20, 1931, to Nordahl and Sanda (Langaard) Stendahl and grew up on the family farm in Vernon County. She graduated from Westby High in 1949.
On July 28, 1951, Anna married Robert (Bob) L. Olson in the Upper Coon Valley Lutheran Church in Coon Valley, WI. They celebrated 66 years of marriage this past summer.
Anna was a homemaker who loved to sew and work in her garden and in her later years, became an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Anna was a kind women with a generous heart who never had a negative word about anyone. All who knew her, loved her. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother.
Anna is survived by her husband; two daughters, Pamela (Charles) Lehmann and Patricia (Robert) Grathen, and one son, Jonathan R. Olson; four grandchildren, Charles (Karla) Lehmann, Kelly (David) Steinberg, Kim Grathen and Kris Kameya; and 7 great-grandchildren. Anna is also survived by her brother Orville (Lorraine) Stendahl and her sister-in-law, Vivian Turner along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Noble Stendahl; and sister, Arlene Bergh.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Mayo Health System, 9th Floor, for the special care provided to Anna and the family.
A short service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 1st at the Oak Grove Cemetery Chapel followed by a Celebration of Life gathering from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Black River Beach Neighborhood Center, 1433 Rose St, La Crosse, for family and friends.
